The 15% tax on Kenyan content creators

My view on the tax supposed to be imposed on online content creators.

The 15% tax on online content creators has caused mixed reactions. Almost all Kenya Kwanza parliamentarians  are in support of it because it is proposed by the government. However the country wide online content creatorss are firmly saying that the parliamentarians should not vote for it's implementation. Majority of content creators are against this 15% tax. Some are heard saying that Mr. President, William Ruto has got misleading advisors who are giving him misleading advice.

My opinion on the same is that. First of all the government should stop it's intention of wanting to tax content creators. These guys are really having a had time to create content. Some walk longer distances to acquire and shoot content. Some are walking day and night even under harsh and bad weather. After all that hardship YouTube takes 40% tax from what they have made. Now come to think of it if the 15% tax is imposed on them by the government how will

In a nutshell I can say that instead of the government to introduce the 15% tax on online content creators. It should identify all monetary leakages that already exists in the and solve them. If the government is taxing it's citizens left right and center thinking it's the way to go then it is very wrong. The solution is to find out where the leakages are and closed them to avoid mismanagement of funds.

  1. Content creators shouldn't be taxed. Those are jobless educated youths who are trying to at least put something on the table .You can't tax someone who you didn't give a job!
