The negative side of the online media and it's untrained content creators
Article by Jewa Ian
Online media can be stated in a piece of writing as the new communication system through the internet. Social media is a set of different apps or software where people communicate, network and have fun. Some of the social media platforms as part of online media are facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Tiktok among others. Now, recently YouTube as an online media platform has become famous and appealing to almost everyone. This has lead to the rise of untrained Journalists who blog information substandardly.
Most untrained online journalists are busy writing crazy captions on their video thumbnails. You will be disappointed to discover that what is written on the thumbnail is totally different from what is inside the video. This shows lack of incredibility and integrity. Trained journalists know their rules and regulations according to the Communication society of Kenya.
Bloggers also do not filter the kind of words used in their online media. This therefore can lead into sharping a society that does not respect verbal sanity. This problem is also associated with the fact that most bloggers are untrained. Kids morals and that of young adults can be affected once they come across such dirty content.
The online content creators are too personal. They do not deal with facts because they are untrained. Once they get some information about a certain celebrity they don't verify it rather they report it as it is. This incredibility course woes among celebrities and return some loose their reputation and corporate deals.
Online media is giving pressure to young adults. The bloggers online post flashy and luxury things. This creates a perception that that is the way of life. As a result young adults get the pressure to live such lives hence end doing immoral things inorder to achieve such lifestyles. Untrained journalists should be blamed for this since they do not post their failures to encourage young adults to take it easy and work hard.
I conclude by giving a caution to every consumer of online content. Do not be pressured take your time. Avoid being a sponge that takes everything given to you. Think before you make decision and lastly look before you leap.
